Liverpool City Council has passed a motion supporting Vision Zero at its meeting on 20 Sep 2017 - see here.



The new Liverpool City Region Road Safety Strategy for 2017-2020 was adopted in July 2017.

It contains a vision of "a future where no-one is killed on Merseyside's roads" with an interim target of a reduction in the numbers of those killed and seriously injured to fewer than 400 by 2020.

The latest Merseyside Police and Crime Plan (for 2017 - 2021) has made road safety one of the five police priorities. See http://www.visionzeromerseyside.org.uk/9.html


with an emphasis on pedestrians and cyclists since these are the most vulnerable of road users (especially children, older people and those with disabilities), and because these groups pose the least threat to other road users.
