Welcome to the website for Vision Zero MerseysideAdvocating an end to fatal and serious injuries on the roads in Liverpool City Region NewsLiverpool City Council has passed a motion supporting Vision Zero at its meeting on 20 Sep 2017 - see here. ![]() It contains a vision of "a future where no-one is killed on Merseyside's roads" with an interim target of a reduction in the numbers of those killed and seriously injured to fewer than 400 by 2020. Read more here. The latest Merseyside Police and Crime Plan (for 2017 - 2021) has made road safety one of the five police priorities. See http://www.visionzeromerseyside.org.uk/9.html with an emphasis on pedestrians and cyclists since these are the most vulnerable of road users (especially children, older people and those with disabilities), and because these groups pose the least threat to other road users.
